Lima: A nice way to run Linux VMs on Mac
You can use VMware Workstation Player and an unlocker like Auto-Unlocker (https://github.com/paolo-projects/auto-unlocker) to enable Mac OS as a guest. It works, but it's very slow because the Mac guest runs without GPU acceleration.

Violation of Reddiquette
There's plenty of subreddits like /r/hackintosh which don't have any care if you want to run it on ESXi or the like. If you're looking to use it for casual use or productivity, then I'd look at Hackintosh. Since I care more about using it from a server perspective, I'd use "Unlocker" that's been made to work for years. As long as you trust a random persons python scripts to run on your bare metal. https://github.com/DrDonk/esxi-unlocker
