Any good i3 configs?
I started with i3 on ArcoLinux and customized my config with the base config shipped with ArcoLinux-i3. I'd recommend taking that and reading the documentation to start with. As start menu (it's more an application launcher in window managers) you can use dmenu or rofi for example. For desktop background people usually use feh, there should be an example in the config above.

How to setup pywal with vifm
The easy way is not a technical description. Correct does not imply easy. I run Pywal with Variety using the relevant section from the default ArcoLinux config. You might get some ideas from this.

What's the bare minimum of knowledge required before switching to a window manager ?
Here is arco's and endeavourOS's config files to get you started. Also this could be a good starting point.

How to use Vifm as file selector in Vim?
Hi. I just installed this plugin https://github.com/vifm/vifm.vim to use vifm as file selector in Vim, but it only gives me "No files selected". I select files in vifm with t and quit. Not sure what else to do here and I searched the web and the documentation too. In Vim I just type :EditVifm in example and then the file manager will popup, I select the file and quit and nothing happens.

I'm using vifm plugin as project manager as well directory browser. (Really love vifm and super comfortable with it. So rather not use another file tree).
