How do i add mods to quake?
If you are on PC the absolute easiest way is to use the Quake Injector. Mainly for custom maps, you can still download and play mods very quickly. More info here: https://www.quaddicted.com/tools/quake_injector

Quake map recommendations for newcomers
Grab Quake Injector and it will be a piece of cake to find good maps to play. Sort by rating, look for interesting names/themes, start with the earliest maps - there's lots of different ways to find content on quaddicted.
