use a compatibility layer (eg. CrossOver or Porting Kit), and install the game directly on macOS (/u/mnapoli wrote a guide for that).
CAN'T PLAY ON LINUX. Latest update broke game - Steam

For DE at least, native Steam for Linux + Steam play / Proton is the most straightforward way to play on Linux. I think most macOS users rely on Crossover instead, but I'm not sure.
