Why should you not use the Hard button?
That's why add-ons like Straight Reward help - as they'll reset a cards ease if you keep getting them right and hitting "Good".

Get ease back to starting ease add on
The Straight Rewards addon does exactly this when you answer a card correctly multiple times in a row. It has a max ease setting that defaults to starting ease.

There is also an addon called Straight Reward that will increase the ease of your cards if you repeatedly get them right, it helps keep your cards from stacking up too much especially if they're ones you consistently get right.
