  • Double VPN using OpenVPN as client and server
    1 project | | 7 Nov 2021
Hello everyone! I am trying to configure a VPN chain consisting of two servers. What I have is two servers configured with script. What I want is to connect to server_1 via VPN which in its turn will be connected to server_2 via another tunnel. I have already got it working for simple client-server connection but whenever I try to configure OpenVPN on the second machine it just gets unavailable (lost connection) and I have to rollback to a previous working state, so I can't retrieve any logs. What I do exactly is put my double_vpn.conf file created by server_2 install script into server_1's /etc/openvpn folder and then execute systemctl start [email protected]_vpn and after that server_2 becomes unavailable

Algo is fine, but personally, I prefer the and Yeah yeah OpenVPN is ancient, but there are networks where WireGuard can't run out of the box and OpenVPN just works. I also like how the NAT IPv6 support allows me to get IPv6 seamlessly on IPv4-only ISP. Anyone living in a civilized country may not care about those, but I do.

  • How to setup OpenVPN server on Ubuntu
    2 projects | | 13 Oct 2021
We’ll be using an OpenVPN installation script from Github made by angristan. The Installation process done manually is not difficult, it actually requires many steps and can be time consuming(especially if you miss-configured a step which can consume more time by troubleshooting). For the simplicity and ease of setup we’re using the angristan’s script(big thanks to him for sharing the script).
