nvim VS cmp-nvim-lsp

I've found an example config with vim-mucomplete. Most configs I've found for R seem to use ncm-R, ncm2 and nvim-yarp but I could not make those work at all on my system.

You need to add nvim-cmp and cmp-nvim-lsp

cmp-nvim-lsp: Completion source. Shows data send by the language server.

nvim-lspconfig is only for configuring the language-servers. You need to add the https://github.com/hrsh7th/cmp-nvim-lsp source to nvim-cmp in order to get lsp completions

Yep. Make sure you have cmp-nvim-lsp installed, as well as an LSP server running.
