android_vendor_lawnchair VS QuickSwitch

I'm already doing this for my own custom Calyx builds to be able to use Lawnchair. You just have to include this vendor module in your build, and Lawnchair will be included with all the permissions it needs. And if you look at the code there, the only .apk's required are Lawnchair's, no need for the QuickSwitch .apk since it's setting that permission directly.

I think it would be nice to add some kind of integrated quickswitch support for third party launchers (something like that). That way you could have them feel quite native and smooth. Right now you either stick with the stock which is fine, but does not offer a lot of customization, or you root your phone which defeats CalyxOS purpose...

Once rooted, you'll need to grab the latest version of lawnchair 12.1 alpha here, and the latest version of quickswitch here.

If you don't mind the open/close animations being a bit less smooth then you can try nova or lawnchair. If you're willing to root though, I'd avoid pixel launcher mods altogether and check out quickswitch with Lawnchair 12.1.

If you are able to root, you can use QuickSwitch to make Lawnchair and most other launchers the source of the recent screens so animations are pixel perfect and smooth as the stock launcher. Currently doing it in Lineage 19.1 with Lawnchair 12.1.

So without further ado I decided to root my phone and make use of this Magisk Module which enables the Pie Recents systemlessly for all supported launchers. I have been using the Lawnchair Launcher (Alpha) with the QuickSwitch module for quite some time now and everything feels performant and glitch-free.
