The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

memstats - memory usage for multiple processes on Linux
A lot of stackoverflow answers suggest to sum RSS or VSZ, or whatever memory metric (USS,PSS...). In my experience, this will not provide a good approximation of memory usage. See the test program https://github.com/tatref/linux-mem/blob/master/oracle-tools/src/bin/multi-mmap.rs. The only tool that report a good value is systemd-cgtop is you use cgroups

What are some alternatives?
When comparing Zmem and linux-mem you can also consider the following projects:
yclass - Inspect and recreate in-memory data structures
eagle - A tool to plot the memory and cpu usage.
memflow - physical memory introspection framework
mevi - A memory visualizer in Rust (ptrace + userfaultfd)
compact_str - A memory efficient string type that can store up to 24* bytes on the stack
rs-process-memory - A rust library that allows you to read/write into the memory of other processes
heim - Cross-platform async library for system information fetching 🦀
