Just go to the GitHub https://github.com/Rocky5/XBMC4Gamers, and download the latest version of XBMC4Gamers. FTP it to your box to the same location your current install is at.

The second method is connecting the new hard drive to your computer and using a program like FATXplorer 3.0 beta , Explorer 360 or XBoxHDM to set up your new hard drive. Personally, I think this method is easier but not a lot of people use it and there are no videos on how to do it. The closest guide I could find is here: https://www.hazeno.com/og-xbox-hdd-2tb-and-under. However, this guide is for a hard modded Xbox. For a softmod, instead of using the C: drive files the guide suggests, you would use the C: drive files from Rocky5's softmodding tool. This way you are putting the softmod tool files directly onto the new hard drive. You can get the C: drive files by going to the softmodding tool at Github and selecting Download Prebuilt versions -> Installer variants -> XBhdm Build.zip

NEED HELP DESPERATELY. r/originalxbox is currently gone so i am asking here, I need help with my Xbox which won’t read disks anymore. Is it possible to swap out a disk drive even if it’s not the same as the original?
The softmod tool that is recommended is Rocky5's softmodding tool https://github.com/Rocky5/Xbox-Softmodding-Tool. There's many tutorials on Youtube you can watch to help you such as this one https://youtu.be/iV8B6eZVkBM, you can also read more about it here https://www.consolemods.org/wiki/Xbox:Hotswapping but I recommend the video as it will help a lot.

21 Service Requested after loading Linux checkpoint on SC for Insignia.
If the Insignia tool still won't launch after that (or if no update triggers), then I'd suggest nuking the save and loading in Rocky5's softmodding tool instead. Once that's done you'll be able to install and run the Insignia set up tool through the new menu system that sets up for you. If for some reason you want to revert back to stock afterwards, use Rocky5's Extras disc to do so.

Does anybody know how to fix this? (Error code 05)
It either needs to be modchipped, like u/Nucken_futz_ said, or you need to softmod the system and then use an application like Chimp 261812 to clone the hard drive and swap them over.
- I think I killed it. I hope it can live again.

- I accidentally updated my Xbox dash board from a burned disc (my bad) and it removed my soft mod. Would it be safe to install again? I am a noob.
