Questions regarding a wishlist app I want to build.
So I have a little project I’m embarking upon where I can get scrape the web for book prices, update those in a database, send out emails for pricing changes, and hopefully more. I’m hoping to get it started on a simple Raspberry Pi 4 4gb. Currently I’m writing the code in Python, using Postgres for the database. My question before I get too involved in the project is, what languages should I use? I program in C++ daily for work and have more experience with compiled languages. Would another language/database be more suited to run this on such a small device? I’m also looking at maybe learning Docker to help with containerization, but I’m not even sure if I need it. Any and all advice is welcome, and here’s the GitHub for anyone interested in poking around. Thanks in advance!
