Running Windows Programs on Mac (Wineskin)
I used Wineskin to port them both to MacOS and the https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/how-to-run-windows-apps-on-your-mac web page as a guide. I just used a regular windows .ico file to change the icon in the guide. Somehow converting the .ico as it is stated in the guide did not work for me. You can download Wineskin Winery from (https://github.com/Gcenx/WineskinServer) and use manual installation. They both needed .NET framework. That was easy with the Winetricks to find the .NET frameworks under DLL section and then run them. 1st program needed to access network shares in the domain but the link was in windows format (\\ServerName\ShareName\Folder).

Horizon: Zero Dawn slo-mo
Can anyone demonstrate to me how to fix the slo-mo issue in Horizon: Zero Dawn that slows down the game speed. I am aware of the GitHub article here: https://github.com/Gcenx/WineskinServer/issues/424 although I am unaware of how to perform the registry tasks that is required to fix the issue.

Any way to run .exe files on Mac?
I use this wrapper for WINE. That it "doesn't seem to work" when you use what you've installed from the command line doesn't tell us much. What did you do after installing it? What happened?

Error while trying to install Crossover on Mac
I believe your issues might be because crossover is not supported on sonoma yet, its probably because sonoma is still in beta and so not much aplications can run on it, i found that wineskin server (https://github.com/Gcenx/WineskinServer) works pretty nicely on sonoma so maybe try that.

Use D3DMetal on Wine 8.10 Staging
Hi, I followed this guide of u/Gcenx https://github.com/Gcenx/WineskinServer/issues/420 and applied on wine 8.10 staging (this version https://github.com/Gcenx/macOS_Wine_builds/releases/tag/8.10) but it seems like it doesn't work I always get a stub error. My question is: I need to do something else or D3DMetal simply doesn't work on newer wine version

GPTK Beta 3 Removes Ventura Support.
EDIT: It seems like some folks couldn't get beta 2 to run either. I've double confirmed that both the initial release and beta 2 work great for me on macOS 13.4.1 using Whisky, but with beta 3, Apple blocks you from even trying to use it.

Apologies to the diehard Windows fans
The only magic of Proton is handled by Steam. Proton itself is just providing the tools for the job, as you put it. There are already rapidly developing tools such as https://github.com/IsaacMarovitz/Whisky that give you a UI to launch games and apps using Apple's GPT. In theory, you could run the Windows version of Steam inside it and then launch apps from there and it would look a lot like what Proton does.
