Time to make a server
My OpenVPN solution is a pfSense plugin, but I run WireGuard in an always-on Windows Server 2016 Proxmox VM and just port forward incoming WireGuard connections to it. I didn't configure WireGuard on Windows manually, I used this tool which made it all point-and-click simplicity.

i have not used the guide you posted but i have used Wg server for windows. It’s a gui you can use to set up your server. maybe check it out and try it? you can get it here

WireGuard Server on Windows - Best way
https://github.com/micahmo/WgServerforWindows will most properly do this for you. Then you need to limit the clients so they can only access public IP's (no LAN IP's). I guess Windows Defender Firewall needs to be involved if need security. Eg. Not only configure internet-only access on the client, but enforcing it on the server-side. If the client are kind and only wants to access internet then you can configure it with AllowedIPs
- I'm trying to set up a wireguard VPN server on my windows server at home and connect to it while at work. I used wiresock to generate a tunnel then set up port forwarding and disabled windows firewall but when I try using my android wireguard client to connect to it it can never verify the handshake

Had nightmare with that script and sharing on interface would always bork after server reboot, only thing that gave me good results on windows was using https://github.com/micahmo/WgServerforWindows for some reason when using this tool it works and persists even after reboot on widnows

Very high speed reduction
I am currently running a Wireguard VPN server on Windows 11 that I set up with Wg Server for Windows. For some reason, the VPN is reducing speeds by 409%, and I can't find out why. I am using a gigabit wired internet connection on my PC and connecting to the VPN via Wi-Fi from my phone, so I think the speed reduction should be minimal.

What is the simplest/cleanest script with gui to install wireguard on a new vps without docker?
I haven't tried the previously mentioned options. I do very much like wireguard-manager.

VPN doesn't connect when using the domain name instead of IP
I've used Wireguard-Manager to set up my server and goes perfectly fine. The problem is that it sets the Endpoint as :, so if the IP of my router changes, I have to change it all together.
