What are your life saving network troubleshooting tools?
For Windows users: I really love vmPing. It's a TINY binary that is super useful. It's a real little swiss army knife, why it doesn't have more of a cult following I don't know. Everyone I show it to falls in love with it. The damn binary is 377Kb and there's no installer!

Are any simple end-user tools out there to test if a list of IP:Ports are open and responding?
I use vmping for this all the time. It supports sets of hosts that can be saved/loaded, you can do tcp pings just by specifying :PORT after the IP

Is there a version of PING that has an audio component?
