How 2 Mod on pc
Upside-Down: this nation takes every little unique advantage existing in the base game and mashes them all up into one overpowered civilization. Great fun for when you're tired of playing fair.

How 2 Mod on pc
DeCiv: an extremely in-depth mod that transforms the game into a post-apocalyptic setting. Highly recommended, both for playing and for studying how to make mods.

What should i do first?
To introduce yourself to what is possible within the game, I think it's good to look at a very extensive mod that changes a lot of things. My favorite mod to study for ideas is DeCiv. It's an extensive and well-made mod done by people intimately familiar with the mechanics of UnCiv. Your first few mods will be nowhere near as ambitious as DeCiv, but that's okay, we're just using it for ideas for now. Another good one to study is the Civ 5 Expansion Mod.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing Upside-Down and DeCiv you can also consider the following projects:
5Hex-Tileset - A MASSIVE tileset mod by Ravignir. New tile graphics, new unit graphics. Compatible with: RekMOD, Ancient and Medieval civs mods. Leave a star on the mod page if you like it.
Unciv - Open-source Android/Desktop remake of Civ V
Civ5ExpansionMod - Tries to add as much Civilization 5 content into the game. By Red11 (3.13.13)
EmpireOfSmokySkies - Mod based on the Empire of Smoky Skies scenario from Civ 5. By Red11 (3.12.10)
Tech-Stopper-_Industrial_ - This mod cuts short the tech tree up to the Industrial era. Tech Stopper Series. Up to date with the latest version of Unciv
The-North-Pole - A seasonally festive mod for Unciv. Merry Christmas!
