I had git gutter but used +/-/~ as signs and I couldn't find how to change it. So now I use coc-git that I configured to show | instead of +/-/~. You can find that config here. However, to still be able to use git gutter for airline, I have disabled git gutter signs. You can find out how I did it on line 102 of my .vimrc.
