Did SDG just quit?
Current state of the situation: SDG has stopped developing the UDP tileset, at least for now. He also deleted the Discord server that he had created to organize his work on the project. From the readme file on the tileset repo on Github, in addition to a history of transphobic statements elsewhere, his reasons for doing this seem to be very clear. Before making any misinformed comments on the change, you should also read the actual conversation surrounding the PR first to ensure you are not making any stupid statements.

Character appearance customization mods?
Zets-Hair Extensions (outdated original) and Whaley's Hair and Tattoos (no link I can find) used to do this. I think the devs put a freeze on appearance related expansion till the char creator layout gets some love (everything falls under traits, along with mutations, and that list can get a bit excessive).
