11th Gen. Created a bootable USB following the instructions for doing a BIOS/Firmware update. Put setup_var.efi on it. Booted from the USB, hit escape before it ran the firmware update to get to the UEFI Shell. Found this thread that has the commands to run for both 11th and 12th gen

XPS 15 9570 in 2023
If someone wants to tinker with these old beasts its not strictly necessary to downgrade on the 9550 and i would guess also not on the 9560 and 9570. It is possible to modify almost everything in the setup bios using https://github.com/datasone/setup_var.efi
