Thunderbolt dock with dual displays at 1080p@120-144hz?
Actually, I found that even on Intel with a newer macOS version there were some hacks that were needed, and a direct look at the issues in one of the "patchers" - https://github.com/rgov/Thunderbolt3Unblocker/issues/71 is not supported on M1. But there is also https://www.reddit.com/r/Thunderbolt/comments/ll1twj/comment/gp80obh/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3 claiming M1 works as is (for one monitor on M1, obviously), and https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/379778/macbook-pro-16-and-dell-tb16 claiming that older firmware on TB16 may cause issues on Intel MBP. If you can return it - that's like a project to try I guess. But back to the same question on why so cheap - you don't get much certainty until you try and support after you tried and possibly failed.

Part Data Hoarder, part Apple, a little eGPU and a sprinkle of magic; definitely a unicorn.
1. Thunderbolt3Unblocker, this requires a replug after restarts

Booststation eGPU + MBP late 2011 + thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter = FAIL
A cheap eBay HP zbook thunderbolt 3 dock and the unsupported thunderbolt device enabling kext (https://github.com/rgov/Thunderbolt3Unblocker) and it all springs to life.

Anker 577 Compatibility with M1Pro
Is it one of the very first TB3 docks from 20-15? I think the oldest generation of TB3 docks is blacklisted in macOS but that always the case (https://github.com/KhaosT/tb3-enabler)

2. tb3-enabler, devices can be left plugged in after restart but requires more work (in Catalina work has to be done in recovery)
