Mute Vtuber
Hi, I'm in a similar boat and have been streaming for a little while. I will say that you should do what your most comfortable with. It will probably take time, but I think whatever you want to do work. I use a nice free Text to Speech called Voice Wizard if you decide you want that. Here's a link: https://github.com/VRCWizard/TTS-Voice-Wizard. I found it pretty easy to set up and there good options for more realistic voices.

Windows Defender spamming over "Behavior:Win32/Hive.ZY"?
It does not tell me what program or anything is causing it, and I am unsure what to do. i am currently thinking about resetting my computer. I didn't download anything that would've caused it to my knowledge, only thing I can recount downloading was a program from Github: https://github.com/VRCWizard/TTS-Voice-Wizard which i don't think could have caused it.

Many complaints have come from VR Chat community over lose of accessibility mods like speech to text. Could such mods be implemented through the Steam VR layer? What other QoL mods cloud be rewritten as Steam VR ad-ons?

VRchat chatbox to speech
Use an avatar keyboard like this one and send your own OSC messages out of VRChat to a TTS app that can receive them. You'd likely have to write your own, so this is the most involved option, and the keyboard's many, many contacts aren't going to be great for the avatar's perfomance ranking, but it'd be the most direct option (and currently on my backlog of things to attempt)

Do you need a physical microphone to use TTS?
In terms of text chat, lately, I've been using (a somewhat modified version of) this avatar text prefab that can receive text sent with OSC. It includes an avatar keyboard as well but, as you'd expect, it uses quite a few colliders. It uses a custom shader for the text display, though, so it wouldn't be Quest-standalone compatible. I've also had it leave out a few characters here and there for other players when typing quickly.
