Methods 2 Reduce CPU Temps Under Intense Demand?
I am also running TPFanControl v2.1.5 by Shuzhengz(https://github.com/Shuzhengz/TPFanCtrl2). The fan is set to manual at 64 (MAX FAN SPEED I UNDERSTAND THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH USING THIS SETTING AND I ACCEPT).

Your only option is basically using TPFanControl but I guess you're doing it already. On devices with dual fans there's also TPFanControl2 :)

How to install a fork of Thinkpadfancontrol for X1 Carbon Gen9 and its dual fans?
Found this earlier today, but can't seem to figure out how to properly get it working. It says "To avoid errors, either install tvicport manually or install the original version of TPFanControl found here (source code here), and run the dual-fan version instead of the original version."

Help with my Hackintosh on big sur Thinkpad W541
There's also this guy on Github but the repo is older, uses Clover, and it likely wont boot Big Sur. He used a desktop SMBIOS of iMac14,2 and has some issues but looks like he did get the OS to install.
What are some alternatives?
