Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

What are some interesting free APIs to pull data from or sites that do allow you to scrape them?
Free but unethical? Slack workspace API. The Legacy Token system isn't exactly gone, it's just more complicated to request the tokens with limited scope, but I only scrape user data so you basically still get full scopes for scraping user data as the Legacy. I was able to scrape 500 Slack workspaces using this method.

The missing pieces of Workflow Builder in an open-source bot
...and finally this year I got fed up and built out the core of an open-source, self-hostable bot (GitHub link) to complement Workflow Builder with any missing functionality. Called it Workflow Buddy cuz they go hand-in-hand 😁.
