Is ScummVm required?
You should probably use Protonup-QT to install Roberta, it'll be like a selectable proton version in steam but instead it's using native scummVM. Not sure about cloud saves though unfortunately.

Has Linux Gaming just turned into PC Gaming in Wine?
But, I can see the logic in starting off as a compatibility layer for Windows designed applications and start out as a simplified product line and go from there, the full on steam machines was a barge in, but Proton and the Steam Deck is more of a foot in the door, not even that, because I think that proverb is still a metaphor of an unwelcome entrance, but I can't think of a welcoming analog. I think it needs to be a transitional thing and instead of game devs targeting windows, I think they should target an ABI abstraction The developers of Zork instead of reprogramming it for every CPU, they just reprogrammed it for an abstraction and ported the abstraction and that's why you can be eaten by a Grue in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Roberta is compatible with too many 80's and 90's games to mention and ScummVM has exceeded the scope of just adventure games. Said abstraction compatibility would also make x86 less relevant.
