Fantastic Oscilloscopes and Where To Buy Them.
I'm by no means an expert but I got myself a Hantek 6022BE. It's 2 channel, 20MHz USB scope that is popular enough to be fairly well supported by the open source community (eg. https://github.com/OpenHantek/OpenHantek6022). It suits my needs pefectly well - I dabble in Arduino, some basic PCB design, etc. and I wanted to see a bit more than a multimeter can show me. I didn't feel like spending 5 times as much on the most basic dedicated scope and so far I'm happy with my choice.

What is the best way to install an old (pre-bullseye) kernel?
I'm currently working with the developer (https://github.com/OpenHantek/OpenHantek6022/issues/207), but it seems the issue lies with my laptop's hardware/kernel combo. I'm currently using the latest version of the software as well

Are any of the portable/handheld/USB Oscilloscopes worth getting?
The best fix for the crap Hantek 6022 software is to run OpenHantek6022. It still doesn't make it a particularly great scope, but it does make it usable.
