Recovering truncated video by filesystem
With the corrupted 4GB file, I tried using untrunc, I had it running for hours, but didn't do anything, then I had better luck with mp4fixer, which generated an h264 file that I'm able to play with vlc, though the playback speed is not right, it plays in slow motion and jumps forward around every second.

Repairing/recovering deleted MP4 files from old hdd
I have tried using both mp4fixer and Untrunc to repair the corrupted files. So far the only succes Ive had was with MP4fixer, which repaired 1 very small video file of 2 seconds length. The other files however can not be played after using the repair tools. I have tried to play them with VLC and commandline FFPLAY (from ffmpeg).
What are some alternatives?
