What's helped me the most is using Tampermonkey with the "Remove Adblock" script, haven't seen the annoying ad block detection pop-up in weeks now.

Whenever I reinstall, I am missing basic packages like make, gcc, binutils, and dozens of libraries that they depend on. There are three options for a driver, either the rtl8812au driver on the ubuntu.com archives (supposed to work with 8821 models as well), the aircrack-ng driver, and the morronwr driver. The first two need dkms, which needs gcc and make, and the last just needs gcc and make regardless.
