Python Discord Bot developer with 2+ years of experience
My discord username is crayyy_zee and I've been a discord user since 2019. I used to make discord servers for discord nitro in like 2020 until one day I got too tired of having to do everything manually and decided to make a bot that would ease the process. Learnt python in a week and got to development right after. Since then I've made countless standalone bots and addons for the Red-DiscordBot project. Some of these are open source on my GitHub. I do both per-hour and effort based projects. I am also one of the owners of Melon which is currently in 950 guilds and growing. If any of you wants a discord bot developed you can definitely contact me and we could work up some deal that is affordable to you and comfortable for me.

Self hosted Discord bot
What about red?

Hydra is dead... any other Discord bots that play music?
Red is probably the only real long-term option. If you rely on a public bot, that public bot will eventually get kicked off YouTube. Self-hosting a bot means you're simply going to be too obscure for YouTube to care, and if they eventually go after self-hosted bots then at that point that's going to be a news item that's going to cause a lot of anger and pretty much nothing else at all will be working with youtube anymore.

Running your official Discord communities. How do you prefer to set them up?
I've been using Red Bot for music, and a few other things, but you have enough functionality to create many complex rules.

I have created an open source Discord bot with JavaScript. I'm looking for help from open source contributors from any experience level (beginner to expert).
1) why are you late loading fetch? Won't that just hide issues until someone uses the command? https://github.com/EliusHHimel/Slash/blob/main/commands/movie.js#L9 2) re looking for help, why would someone want to contribute to your bot vs something else (ex maybe https://github.com/Cog-Creators/Red-DiscordBot which has a lot of community and stuff)

What program(s) do you use to remember passwords, including crypto?
For passwords and 2FA I use Bitwarden in combination with a self-hosted Vaultwarden service (for imcreased security and use of pro features for free).

Open Source: An Antidote to Closed Source Vulnerability
I have a lot of software that I host myself on my home server, partly to save money but also because I want to control my own data. For example, I host VaultWarden which is the open source server for BitWarden. This gives me all the premium features for free with the added bonus of keeping my passwords out of the cloud.

Bitwarden: Free, open-source password manager
Self hosting is incredibly easy with vaultwarden (https://github.com/dani-garcia/vaultwarden)

Your privacy is optional
I have now switched to using the BitWarden app with the self-hosted VaultWarden server. I have set it up, so my passwords are only accessible when connected to my home network either physically or with a VPN (I am using tailscale for this).
