The uncanny valley comes to mind. It resembles Windows 95, but the fonts and spacing feel wrong.

Anyone have any experience with the React95 library?
I am trying to use this library in a new project and I am running into some issues when using the icons.

Using Google Sheets as a simple database with Papa Parse
One of the first results was React95 and the first link inside the showcase was a recipe app from one of the library's contributors. The readme stated it used Google Sheets as a database, which I found interesting and decided to investigate further.

Show HN: Browse the modern web from ye olde' Macintosh
This is meant to copy the look of System 6. It uses the system.css design system^0, and the Internet Explorer logo from Windows 98. The reason we use IE is because this was one of the first (the first?) browser shipped with Mac OS, but it didn't arrive until macOS 8 or so. So, this work can be considered historical fiction: there never was IE, or even a browser on System 6, which existed around 1991, the year of Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
