Rune Factory 5 on Steam Deck - Controller Fixes not working
Are you sure it's supposed to work on SD? Since there's an open issue. Also, I found this reply that said "if Steam thinks that you're using a PS4 controller it seems the game will automatically use PS button prompts", so maybe spoof it somehow.

I just got rune factory 5 and got the dragon farm thing, but I ah e a hard time getting into this game
If you're playing on pc you can try installing RF5Fix, it helped smooth out some of the stuttering for me. There is also RF5 Less Compressed Textures available on Nexus to make the game look cleaner. Another small thing I'd look into is sprite edits available for the majority of the characters.

rune factory 5 mods
So to do this, you will want to. * Go to https://github.com/Lyall/RF5Fix/releases (I hope links are allowed here) * Once there in the first Release section, you will see a section at the bottom called Assets, and you will see a link for a zip file called RF5Fix_v0.1.4.zip * Click that link and download the file. * Then you will want to unzip that file with your program of choice (personal recommendation is 7zip) and put all of the contents directly into your RF5 install folder. xyz/steam/steamapps/common/RuneFactory5 * Now you should have bepinex installed. At this point start the game. DO NOT use the launcher. You will need to use the exe just labeled "Rune Factory 5", NOT the one that is labelled "Rune Factory 5 Launcher". Steam may try to open with the launcher instead, just bypass it manually for now, and you can change the steam settings later. You can use the launcher to change settings in the future but just hit "save and quit" afterwards, and start the game separately. * After your game has been started at least once and gotten to the main menu, you can close the game. * Back in your game folder, extract the contents of the downloaded mod into the rest of the folder, it has a bepinex folder which will just merge with the existing one and add the plugin for you. * Start your game again and everything should just work. I personally ran into an issue for myself where holding shift and hitting E to place the furniture wasn't working for some reason, so you can change the setting to always ignore placements in the config file found in "bepinex/config".

Time to Upgrade Your Monitor
> the 4K monitors the author recommends are not good for macOS due to them not supporting native retina scaling above 1080p
Is this true even with the help of 3rd party apps?
My 3840x1600 ultrawide has that problem using the native screen resolution tools but I can get it to full-res HiDPI using BetterDisplay [0].

Ideal Monitor Rotation for Programmers
It isn't a device, it's a software tool. It doesn't make the monitor magically 2x the resolution; it can trick macos to render onto a 5k buffer and then downscale the output to the physical display so it looks not-broken.
https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay
I'm not saying that it'll make 4k look good. I'm saying macOS is unusable on native resolutions - everything is either too small or too blurry, so a 4k display won't do me any good. 25x14 is the sweet spot for me, but I guess Apple decided I'm holding it wrong.

An absolute must-have if you're using your Uperfect lapdock with a Mac!
So I installed the Better Display 2 app [link] , enabled HiDPI 1280x720, and suddenly everything looked both extremely sharp and in a good size. Judging by the size of the screenshot, it mimics Retina 2560 × 1440 and scales it down 2x to 1280x720, making it HiDPI. I can totally recommend you to do as I did.
