How could you use AI for music inspiration/ideas?
Also, theres new tools like https://github.com/acids-ircam/RAVE which can be used to create new sounds, i feel like the more granular you work with AI on art, the better can help you out. Magentajs is pretty cool! Im still just playing with it but is easy to use so far.

Sonification of particles coordinates
https://github.com/acids-ircam/RAVE hope this wasn't too much off topic, i'm just super enthusiastic about RAVE and have been trying to squeeze a sonification in with it with no good applications so far. this feels kinda awesome tho. maybe it fits?
- Zero coding experience, trying to setup a training environment and running into an error
- I train some models, but GPU usage is too low is that normal for learning a model in local?

Ask HN: What weird technical scene are you fond/part of?
I'm in the deep learning music scene, which is due for its stable diffusion moment in the next year or two. The (primarily) timbre transfer system called RAVE is where I'm starting, and my contribution is to optimize the system to improve training time.

Hello
I'm obsessed with generative audio models, particularly RAVE[0].
Music is set to have its GPT-3 / Stable Diffusion moment within a couple years.
I believe in 10 years the venn diagram of music made with computers and music made with neural nets will be a circle, and that now is a great time to jump in.
Would LOVE to swap notes with anyone else here into this. Email in bio.

Help running Anamnesis via wine
Hey there and thanks in advance. I play FFXIV using XIVLauncher (great tool btw) but I miss Anamnesis. A tool to pose characters for screenshot purposes. I just cant get it working, I though it was just impossible to make it work until today that I found that exist a custom launcher for Final Fantasy XIV for mac that installs Anamnesis too using wine (https://github.com/marzent/XIV-on-Mac). Im not an expert and just tryed to check the code and i think it only installs dotnet406 to make it work but is not working for me, so... any FFXIV player here knows how to make Anamnesis work on Linux??? Sorry for my english, is not my native language.

Hello
I see. You definitely could learn japanese ... if you want to. If you don't want it's another story xD. In any case, about FF14, trial works still (I had no problems) and I recommend this client for Mac https://github.com/marzent/XIV-on-Mac - which is better than the official hehe.
- The trouble with Mac gaming is that there are too many options! Hear me out...

PSA: macOS 12.3 breaks the launcher
The softwares source code is here: https://github.com/marzent/XIV-on-Mac there is no malware.
-
macOS Players: Welcome to 12.3, the launcher is dead
entire source code is available on github
-
XIV on Mac Beta is officially out with a custom launcher written in Swift
The app is available for download on our website, https://www.xivmac.com, and the codebase is available at https://github.com/marzent/XIV-on-Mac. It will remain free and open source.
-
Mac Players beware - The game will NO LONGER launch on MacOS 12.3 due to the removal of python2.7
It's a custom build of wine and DXVK as a wrapper for either the vanilla launcher or the FFXIVQuickLauncher. Avoids having to pay for Crossover and it's more beginner friendly. the github repo is here
-
Should I choose Crossover or Native client for FFXIV ?
If you only intend on getting CrossOver for FFXIV then skip it and instead use https://github.com/marzent/XIV-on-Mac
