The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Another programming question
Look at the preset format on this page: https://github.com/profezzorn/ProffieOS/wiki/Preset-Configuration and make sure yours matches.

My last rant on the Lightsaber scene
Yeah, I get the feeling that the razzle dazzle of these toy lightsabers sort of bleeds over into people's expectations of what a good user experience for using and configuring the things should be. Maybe the old timers can chime in about the history of the development of the sound boards, but I get the sense that most of the boards out there are small time efforts that were built out of nerd love, which have produced incredible results, but there's always room for improvements. A lot of real software companies with resources and money have project and feature backlogs, it's not surprising that these sound board developers would have it too. Feel free to develop your own board and OS, that's what the proffie inventor did just 6 years ago. Or fork proffie, since it's open source: https://github.com/profezzorn/ProffieOS (I'm not familiar with CFX, but I think CFX and every other board except proffie is closed source).

First-time builder with a couple of questions/sanity check requests.
Yep those resistor values look right. Usually I resistor based on a 3.7V supply voltage, but an 18650 does go up to 4.2V at full charge. For accent LEDs I define my own structs for each of the accent LEDs along with their input parameters (https://github.com/profezzorn/ProffieOS/wiki/LED-channel-selection). Proffie can calculate and limit the supply voltage going to those LED pads.

Proffie help
The board won't show up as a folder on the desktop. If you open Arduino, after setting it up according to the instructions here, you should be able to select the board under "Ports", as the instructions indicate. I too use a MacBook, it's possible that the board wasn't configured to use Mass Storage so the SD card isn't showing up as a volume.

Should i buy proffie or cfx? Whats the difference between the two?
By and large config.ini and smoothswing.ini are set up by font makers (and in a lot of cases they're just reused across many fonts from what I've seen). They're just parameters for the sounds within the OS. Users (unless they are making their own fonts) really never have to interact or change them. They are documented in the ProffieOS wiki: https://github.com/profezzorn/ProffieOS/wiki/Sound-Font-config.ini-Configuration &

Secondary "Blade" Styles
I have the main blade fine, but I'm having trouble programming my bubble strip LEDs (there's 7 pixels if thats important). I can't figure out how to make them show battery level at boot and have a volume meter while adjusting the volume. I tried dissecting this but to no avail: https://github.com/profezzorn/ProffieOS/blob/9b8aab86a2de5b56c2626e810401a5010f73da9b/config/proffieboard_v2_ob4.h

any one know what board this is so i know what soundfonts to go for?

Some questions regarding the board/model (GHV3)
It comes down to a lack of knowledge. I have many GHv3 boards, and they’re great. No major issues. I also have Proffie and CFX boards. GHv3 is compatible with CFX or Proffie Soundfonts, they may need to have files renamed. There is a great converter program that will rename the fonts for you.
- I am almost finished with my free proffie fonts, how do they sound?
- Hey so I have a xenopixel v2 and was wondering if their would be a way to use Proffie and CFX sound font’s on it. Is their a way to convert the files to be for xenopixel? I’ve tried but it doesn’t seem to work.
