How campaigns (probably) work
Disclaimer: I don't work for Sony and don't have any insider info on how their systems work. I'm basing this on how the campaigns have been seen to behave (credit to u/the_andshrew for their work documenting the Stars API). I'm writing this from a technical background and having worked at companies operating on a similar scale to Sony, but will do my best to keep this readable for a general audience.
