Need advice on caption encoding hardware.
Here is a system that I developed for overlaying captions onto a composite video signal using a raspberry pi and an arduino: https://github.com/TheLooseArrow/PiClosedCaptions
- Have you ever wanted closed captions on your Raspberry Pi just like the good old days of analog television and VHS?

[OC] Look how much these buddies grew in one month! (details of setup in comments)
By the way, for anyone who is interested, I stumbled across someone who wrote code for making time lapse videos with a Raspberry Pi: https://github.com/geerlingguy/pi-timelapse. Seems reasonably well documented. I only just found this today, so I can't vouch for its functionality, but thought I would share for those who are interested.
What are some alternatives?
avr-teletext - Teletext inserter for AVR microcontroller and lm1881 sync separator
r_e_c_u_r - an open diy py/pi based video sampler
raspi-teletext - Generate teletext with a Raspberry Pi
camera.timelapse - Take timelapse photos with a Raspberry Pi camera and automatically generate an MP4 on a daily basis. Optionally upload the daily timelapse to YouTube.
timeslicer - 🌇 A simple python based webapp to create "timeslices"
indi-allsky - Software to manage a Linux-based All Sky Camera.
gif-for-cli
Red-Dot - Red-Dot is a 100% free, hardware-less 3D printing time-lapse software that utilises the camera to detect when to take the picture to make those awesome "growing" time-lapses (WIP)
python_cli_video_editor - A CLI video editor written in the Python Language.
