Pi.Alert VS Cacti

When using PiAlert make sure you use the fork https://github.com/jokob-sk/Pi.Alert and not the very outdated original.

For those of you who may seek help on this subject, kind leiweibau helped me in this and that conversations. There is a better and actively developed fork of this project in leiweibau's github repo. So you may want to use it.

Pi.Alert - original is here but there are more recent forks with additional features, such as this one.

/u/thekrautboy probably has the best and simplest option with Apprise here, but, if you're willing to get your hands dirty and just wanting to get the notifications in Gotify rather than email, you could modify the pialert.py script and change the send_email command to a send_gotify one using the Python documentation from Gotify here.

Pi Alert will do the job

If you have SNMP access to your switches, a very simple quick start is to use Cacti (https://www.cacti.net/) which will give you some nice graphs in no time at all. Far less complex than setting up/configuring a full monitoring system or NetFlow/SFlow.

This was fixed in the following commit https://github.com/Cacti/cacti/commit/d1c1380ad9250c323f1dc874e26840c80edd3afb, I suggest upgrading cacti to at least the 1.2.20 version.

Pretty simple request, but I couldn't find any solution on the internet, neither in Archwiki / Gentoowiki. There are some complicated things like cacti that can read sensord output, but that's a bit of overkill. I just want something like hwinfo64 for $forbidden_OS.

Just to throw this one out there, I use cacti https://www.cacti.net/ for my network monitoring.
