Notify when a new devices connects for the first time?
I like to use pialert for this, also helps me inventorying all my network assets
-
I'd like to set up a system that detects and announces wifi devices (see comment)
Take a look at PiAlert. The project wasn't maintained in a while, but there are forks actively maintained. If you're also using PiHole for DNS, it integrates well with it.

Pialert vs Uptime Kuma? Thoughts
curl -sSL https://github.com/pucherot/Pi.Alert/raw/main/install/pialert_install.sh | bash
I was wondering if anyone has personal experience using either software and was wondering which one I should deploy on my network. My main use case is for monitoring all of my internal services that I care about the most and the WiFi only devices like my Nest Camera, "smart" garage, etc but I was wondering which one is worth investing my time into. First I'll dedicate a VM to run this service on my Hypervisor then I'll dedicate Rasp Pi to monitor and send alerts if needed. I've noticed that on here it hasn't been contributed for quite some time and this would be an alternative if someone would want patching/updating involved. But compared to uptime kuma it seems like this project is actively maintained. I was wondering anyone's thoughts on this. Thanks.
