Subtitles converter (for mkv file)
Pgs is not a format I've seen used anywhere personally, but it looks like there's a pgs->srt converter on github: https://github.com/Tentacule/PgsToSrt

Plug in to convert subtitles to srt?
dvd_subtitle and PGS are more difficult since they are image based, converting image to text requires OCR, I only know off PgsToSrt that does this but this makes it more difficult to use with tdarr since it requires you to use this third party tool.

Why does PLEX transcode HEVC to H264?

How do I extract Subtitles/Captions from DVD?
I just finished doing this for my collection yesterday. I used PgsToSRT to convert them to SRT files from MKVs. The OCR was pretty close and when I notice any errors that I care enough to fix I use Subtitles it to fix them. I avoided the SubtitleEdit batch feature for conversion mainly because it was slow.

Game Translator
I use Mort (dev blog, download) but the menu is in Korean so I cannot really recommend. There should be other open source OCR translators.

Follow this URL to see the status of the Kuro spreadsheet. Current status: the amazing Zerofield team started on 9/30, and they've already translated the Prologue (which is in editing), and have text captured Chapter 1 (which is in translation).
MORT: an alternative to VN OCR. Someone tweeted this yesterday and that person considered it to be superior. The UI is definitely more professional, but sadly it's in Korean.
