Apparently the problem is still going on according to this github issue report the difference is that report is from SMB.

Guitar Hero/Rockband Freezes when microphone plugged in - only when using OPL
Can you test it with this OPL version here?. I found it on github and this supposedly fixes things that plagued OPL on 7500x slims and up.

Funny, I just saw similar report on OPL's github about this problem the difference is that report is using PADEMU instead of adapters.

Issues with getting PS1 games recognized in newer version of OPL.
OPL-DB (Daily Builds) is unofficial and outdated. It's best to use the official OPL Builds for the best compatibility. Unofficial builds like OPL-DB tend to introduce certain issues and compatibility problems not found in the official builds.

Even tho I got a Mega FM I've lately been using a OPN2 emulator (https://github.com/jpcima/ADLplug) as it's so convenient to use. :D Gotta love 4 op FM! I'm a huge advocate for that freeware plugin! No sponsorship deal I swear
