Do you think there are any practical / genuine benefits of using rich text in apps like in Microsoft Word, over markdown?
Another thing - on the PC, I use OneMore. It is an addon created by u/stemarcoh, which has been immensely useful in doing some of the things - especially custom styles. (https://github.com/stevencohn/OneMore)

TIL: No Search/Replace
OneMore plugin has Search/Replace, which I highly recommend.

Is there a way to set a "read-later" or reading lists on Onenote?
The OneMore add-in recently released a Navigation window that has three features, one of which is adding a page to a "reading list".
-
It's 2023 - why the heck do we still not have a way to merge table cells?
Yep, I use the OneMore addon to bridge the gap for things like that - it adds Search & Replace to CTRL+H. The latest update adds a command palette (CTRL+SHIFT+P) which is super handy.

Are any students here willing to help a total newbie to One Note? Just started using it for my notes.
I also want to add that if you use OneNote on a desktop computer or laptop, then you can install and use OneNote Gem, OneTastic and OneMore. These are specialized user-community created plugging for your OneNote application, which can be utilized on the desktop or laptop platform, these pluggings definitely expand the capabilities and features of OneNote to a really good degree.

Adding a stopwatch ?
Download the latest release from here (5.8.2 as of today) and read the installation instructions here

I kind of hate OneNote
Second, look at add-ins, such as OneMore. This can customize section tabs as well as notebooks. It can not only resize multiple images as once but also lets you import PDF and PowerPoint printouts with a preferred image width (this feature is actually about to be released, not yet release!)
- Why does OneNote lack basic features?
-
Whats a good way for inserting code in the middle of my notes?
Use an addon like OneMore which can highlight code text for you.

There are more options you can use with 'Ozan's Image in Editor Plugin,' such as changing the size of the transclusion, or transcluding to specific page. You can read more about them on the plugins repository.
