OctoPrint-MeatPack VS Octolapse

I thought of meatpack and chuckled

Further improvements can be made with MeatPack, if one is game to goof with printer firmware.

I designed and implemented a g-code compression algorithm which nearly doubles serial throughput for OctoPrint, reducing stuttering.

In the readme.md of the github project:

The software engineer in me is always looking for optimization opportunities so I spent some time staring at the G-code. I think I've found a couple ways to compress about 3% more without firmware changes (although have not tested it). Besides, there is absolutely no reason to overclock the 4B SoC for OctoPrint. The quality bottleneck is the Einsy board's serial port. I've been working on a project to help improve that though: https://github.com/scottmudge/OctoPrint-MeatPack . But OctoPrint is only going to use ~5-15% of the 4B's computational resources, even at its standard clock rate. Even with a webcam attached.

Have you gone through the Octolapse guide? https://plugins.octoprint.org/plugins/octolapse/. There’s a lot of info in there with suggestions. It mentions the wiki. That’s a great resource too: https://github.com/FormerLurker/Octolapse/wiki

Trying to install octolapse, so far its the only plug in giving me issue, all the others work fine.. I just get this - Installing plugin "Octolapse" from https://github.com/FormerLurker/Octolapse/archive/master.zip...

Some stringing is unavoidable (especially for bowden setups), but excessive stringing is usually settings related. If you have not done so, go through this guide and make sure 'automatic slicer settings' are used and correctly configured. If you are using Prusa Slicer, make sure you enable 'verbose gcode'. The smart layer trigger is usually your best bet, or 'snap to print' if you are more interested in quality vs a perfect timelapse. Lastly, check out this official guide on print quality. Good luck!
