Totally confused about what I should get as my first ever FPGA
If you really want a PCIe FPGA, I would suggest $110 PCIe FPGA Artix 100T, LiteFury (amazon), Repo (Github), or the SQRL Acorn version for Artix 200T goes for $60-100 on eBay, just search sqrl acorn cle-215+

The Worlds First FPGA N64
I like the iCEBreaker board, relatively cheap (80 euro), uses the digilent Pmod interface for add-on boards and the Lattice FPGA works well with OSS tooling (Yosys, Icestorm, ...)
