Where to go to get actual macro help?
For some additional macro references, I have a GitHub here (https://github.com/NateHawk85/Nathans-DnD5e-Foundry-Modules) with a "Macros" folder that contains various examples of some things that may be useful for you. https://github.com/foundry-vtt-community/macros is another great reference, as well as just looking at any modules that have macros included. Additionally, the Mozilla JavaScript docs (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript) will be a great place to look for JavaScript-specific code snippets and questions.

There's a very loose list of planned improvements being tracked here, but we have an internal document that's more focused and clearer, I just need to take the time to convert it into issues for our tracker.

A Proposal for Foundry to Support a Desired Non-Obscure Use Case
That said, we are looking at ways of improving compendium functionality like adding long sought after compendium folders and even creating modules (and their compendium packs) from inside Foundry VTT without needing to set up the manifest files by hand. We also want to continue expanding on our currently implemented adventure functionality and explore new approaches for how he we might incrementally deliver content in worlds rather than handling them as a bulk transfer which includes things like redesigning our low-level approach to data storage.

As for the documentation and alerts in the UI, well, https://gitlab.com/foundrynet/foundryvtt/-/issues/6500 is assigned and should be ready for testing in the first prototype release. I'm pretty excited to get it set up for the PF2e system. Tutorials for new players and GMs sound awesome.
