The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Need some input from experienced printers out there! Looking to build a printer ground up:)
If you end up with the V0.2, look into Pandora's Box mod. And if you want even more cool factor, look into the Micron (basically a V0, but based on the Voron 2.4).

What's the smallest DIY printer (by volume of the printer itself)?
Hah! I built a 300mm v2.4, hence why I don't care about the build volume for my "desk printer". While I'd love an excuse to build a V0, it's a little bigger than the volume I'm looking for (and the price tag is quite a bit more). If price weren't an issue, I'd probably build a Voron Micron. I just love how fantastically "overengineered" the Voron line is.

neat! any reason you didn't go with a micron build?

Building Voron v0.1 with Voron 1.8 / 2.4 / Trident motors
You may want to try your luck by remixing the parts you want from a Tiny-M (https://github.com/gsl12/Tiny-M), a mod of the V0 that uses 2020 extrusions and NEMA 17 stepper motors.
-
Could a Voron v0.1 be extended to fit a larger buildplate?
yes. but probably not to 250mm. also you'll need larger extrusions. 1515 isn't stiff enough for that. https://github.com/gsl12/Tiny-M
-
v0.1 with nema17 motors?
If you want to build a V0 with NEMA17 stepper motors, you should take a look at the Tiny-M: https://github.com/gsl12/Tiny-M It's a printer based on the V0, but using 2020 extrusions instead of 1515, and NEMA17 motors instead of NEMA14.

Which one to build? V0.1, Tiny-m or Tiny-m 190?
Yes, he just started to publish the mod (https://github.com/gsl12/Tiny-M/tree/master/usermods/triple_z_belted/STL). I am still thinking about it for the 150 mod

Would it be feasible to build a custom sized 0.1?
There is the Tiny M, basically a 150mm3 V0 using 2020 extrusions instead of 1515. The cantilever bed might start to be an issue going much larger than that.
