Study reveals Android phones constantly snoop on their users
The only functional FOSS call recording app for Android that I'm aware of is the Call Recorder app on F-Droid:
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.github.axet.callrecorder...
To use this app, you'll need to root your phone using Magisk[1] and the install the Magisk module for Axet's Call Recorder.[2] Then, upgrade the Call Recorder app to the latest version in F-Droid. Note: do not enable "System Mixer Incall Recording" in Call Recorder, since it is not needed and may cause issues with recording.

Why not to root calyx?
Call recording: Very important when calling customer service reps at big businesses to ensure that the company honors its promises. I've found the call recording apps on the Play Store to be unreliable, especially when switching between different microphones (internal, headphones, Bluetooth). The only app that works consistently for me is Axet's Call Recorder which needs a Magisk module. I've posted about this in a previous thread.

Built-in Call Recorder for Oreo?
I'm already using https://github.com/di72nn/callrecorder-axet but it's not the same as the built-in recorder when I was on Nougat. Though it does record calls. The built-in one didn't require to be running as a notification/background app and it was built-in the Samsung's Dialer App.
