ACC bricked the phone - dead battery
Started using acc a month ago. Everything was ok, but at one point the phone crashed, I hard-restarted it, and then it started bootlooping. Now it looks like the phone no longer charges at all.

Has anyone tried out a custom charging routine with a smart plug?
If you choose to root your phone, there is always Acc . It's fantastic, you cannot set it to stop at a %, I haven't had luck with that, but I have had luck with setting it to stop at a voltage. Use AccuBattery (free) to monitor the voltage and figure out what's battery voltage = the % you want to stop at. On my Pixel 7 Pro 85% is about 1.260

Unihertz Jelly 2: Root, De-bloat & FireWall.
Improve battery longevity with Advanced Charging Controller Easiest way is to use AccA on F-Droid, a GUI/Front end that it installs and configures ACC My config; // Charge level limited to 80%, Charging Current to 700mA & the Charging voltage to 3800
- Any apps there that can control your charging?

[HELP] ACC killed my device and now it won't charge
Advanced Charging Controller somehow had a bug where it didn't allow the phone to take a charge. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the issue until my phone died. It still doesn't charge, and it's not recognized by fastboot or edl tools. Is there anything I can do to revive it?

[Help] How to create a Tasker task that disables usb charging when my phone reaches 100%.
Can use acc (Root required) using termux and hence can be automated.

How is your Pixel 3, 3a, 4, or 4a holding up after 2, 3, or 4 years?
Yeap. You can always root the device and install ACC (https://github.com/VR-25/acc) using Magisk.

android app that gives some alarm (morning alarm not notifications) when the battery is 80% charged.
There is also a Magisk module Advanced Charging Controller , which automatically stops charging when at certain percentage to save the battery.

Linux on Moto G7?
I've deployed rPi-focused projects quite successfully, such as NextCloudPi and Pi-hole.

Bare Metal Nextcloud
Linux Deploy container in Android!
-
FYI: It's easy to run Pi-hole + Unbound on almost ANY rooted Android device
I haven't tried but you're probably ok. Closest thing I 've played with is NextCloudPi for Android which is a fairly complex stack of Apache/PHP/Redis and I could connect to it via SMB. Not the same thing but a data point at least.

NextCloud v24 Server for Android (NextCloudPi in Linux Deploy)
Lightly-forked version of NextCloudPi. There's only a few changes and some SysV initscripts required to get this working nicely in Linux Deploy.

Repurposing an old Android phone as a web server
I went the Linux Deploy route and published a couple of container images that Just Work on pretty much any ARM Android device.
Once you shiv systemd, some pretty elaborate scripts can run in an Android chroot just like they would on bare-metal ARM. Just think of your old Android as an off-brand rPi with case, built-in touchscreen LCD, and way, way fewer GPIO pins. No surprise the server will need a new UPS battery.

The OS base image for Linux Deploy (100MB download) and the forked NextCloudPi Installer are here: https://github.com/DesktopECHO/nextcloudpi

NextCloudPi for Android download link
Requires a rooted device with Android 4.4 (KitKat) or newer. Handy in classroom-type environment or when rPi hardware gets hard to find. Just import the installer image into Linux Deploy and wait a few minutes for NextCloudPi to build from install.sh
