Transmission v4.0
Actually, not such a bad question. There's at least Synapse[1]. It even has a third-part broker to accept transmission GUIs by Drew Dewalt[2]. Why didn't they just reuse Transmission protocol from the get-go, to leverage the great Transmission-Remote-GUI[3] for example, is beyond me.
Unfortunately, there's just not enough interest in the project and no adoptance.
Transmission, at least previously, never have been too resource-friendly, so a lean and mean Rust alternative would be great.

I wrote cratetorrent, a BitTorrent engine in Rust!
Amazing work. I did a similar project only to learn Rust and BitTorrent and I used this amazing blog post as basis: https://blog.jse.li/posts/torrent/
What are some alternatives?
When comparing synapse and herb you can also consider the following projects:
cratetorrent - A BitTorrent V1 engine library for Rust (and currently Linux)
deno - A modern runtime for JavaScript and TypeScript.
hypercore - Secure, distributed, append-only log
intermodal - A command-line utility for BitTorrent torrent file creation, verification, and more
rqbit - A bittorrent client in Rust
aquatic - High-performance open BitTorrent tracker (UDP, HTTP, WebTorrent)
