Trouble with Spider Monkey Panel
Curious why are you using such old versions? SMP 1.3.0 was over three years ago. And Library Tree is 2.4.0 currently with tons of improvements since the first versions.
-
Tagging songs with multiple genres and having them display in each genre
The current version of Library Tree, on the other hand, has tons more features and is "stand-alone" that can be placed in any user-made theme. (foobar is a "make your own" player)
-
Upgraded and lost layout. Possible to get this back again?
Also once Spider Monkey Panel goes 64-bit (hopefully soon as well), the Library Tree script replicates much of what Facets did including album art views, multiple filter panes, and even does some things better like highlighting now playing. (I would not be surprised if we get SMP updated before ReFacets)

Can I get Album List to ignore the prefixed "The" when sorting by folder structure?
Are you still using Album List or did you install Library Tree (w/ Spider Monkey Panel)?
-
Library Tree - how do I ignore "the" when sorting by name?
Firstly, which theme are you talking? (If Eole, if I'm not mistaken it still uses old versions which have limited features compared to the current version of Library Tree script)
-
Spider Monkey scripts you like?
The "big three" scripts by WilB are invaluable to me - Library Tree is closely approaching the best library viewer foobar has seen, it already mimics a lot of Facets, and the next version will apparently bring it even more in line with that. Biography auto-downloads and displays artist photos and missing cover art, and lets you read those in-depth artist wikipedia articles directly in foobar. And then Find & Play lets you listen to albums you do not even have yet - wondering what else the currently selected artist has done? In one click you can see everything they've released and load an album into a playlist, ready to stream from YouTube. (I mean, come on!)

ReFacets: album art?
Since you are on 32-bit, you can install Spider Monkey Panel and put Library Tree in there. As it shows on the screenshots, you can put two panels next to each other, and setup the view / source to show Artist -> Album covers, similar to Facets. (Library Tree has quite a lot of view options, including tree modes, list mode / columns, cover art and flow modes, and then lots of options on top)
-
How do I make album art appear in the Columns UI?
If you're on 32-bit, install Spider Monkey Panel and add Library Tree script.
-
What is the best way to organize music that includes a lot of featured appearances?
With a library viewer like Facets or Library Tree script, in a single column / tree you can combine multiple fields - %%|%% - identical artist names will be merged into one entry. This way clicking the one name you get a complete list of an artist entire works, including features, appearances, etc (as many tags as you add). Alternatively, you can do the opposite with each tag in a separate column / tree branch, to filter the featured artist under / next to the lead artist. (I've never tried to set that up in a tree though it could be interesting!)

Local radio in foobar2000?
We do in a way, though it can be complicated to setup. Have a look at Spider Monkey Panel + Youtube Source + Find & Play script - it can make a library mix for local tracks, or remote tracks streamed from YT. (Be sure to get the latest beta of YT Source)
-
Way to show YouTube Source playlists in Genre/Album/Artist filter?
Yes, if you want to auto-tag artist/album names, use Find & Play script (w/ Spider Monkey Panel) to add tracks. Top left button will switch source to MusicBrainz to get complete artist discography - simply click an album to load to playlist. (The script searches YT to match tracklists, and maybe uses a popularity logic, might not always get the best track versions)

Questions from someone considering migrating from Spotify to foobar2000.
For music discovery in foobar, the best option is the Find & Play script, which pulls data from Last FM and MusicBrainz to get similar artists and load complete albums / tracks / music videos into a playlist, which you can then play streaming from Youtube (usually in OPUS ~148 kbps)
-
Component for online music streaming
Find & Play script (for Spider Monkey Panel) is honestly pretty great. Makes it easy to get complete albums, tracks, music videos (etc) streamed from Youtube. It even has "Auto DJ" algorithm to load similar artists or genres into a playlist.
