LIFX-Control-Panel
As LIFX no longer supports their Windows 10 app, I created an open-source alternative for controlling LIFX-brand smart lights. (by samclane)

Integrate light strip with MAME cabinet
I’m using a LIFX light strip to light up my MAME cabinet marquee. I installed LIFX-Control-Panel to change color based on what’s on the screen, but it’s buggy (crashes on startup sometimes) and I have to configure it each time the machine boots up.

Looking for an app for setting exact lighting kelvin temperature
Interesting! I'm already looking at $30 g125 bulbs, when you say "a LOT more," how much are we talking? Excellent point re: calibration. Your API comment goes over my head but this turned up in a quick search, and honestly every time I end up on GitHUB I never know how to use any of that stuff but maybe this is the time to push myself to learn.
