Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Show HN: Make 3D art in your browser using Lisp and math
There's also ImplicitCAD (https://github.com/Haskell-Things/ImplicitCAD) which produces STLs, as it is designed for CAD. It uses implicit functions, which I believe are similar to SDFs (I believe the idea is not to necessarily correspond to the distance function).

I printed a waistband tightener to hold my skirt up!
ImplicitCAD is essentially OpenSCAD with bevels.

OpenScad is great, but slow to render.
You might take a look at ImplicitCAD. It accepts OpenSCAD code (as well as some other more exotic formats) and can render much much faster depending on resolution. There's an online editor/renderer here that would tell you whether it can handle your existing code unmodified.

How can I create a quarter cylinder?
In the vein of "lots of ways to do things", my personal favorite for rounding is Round Anything: https://github.com/Irev-Dev/Round-Anything
- Module to round individual corners of cubes in 2d
- Setting units and fillets?
- Preferred way for rounding corners?

OpenSCAD 3D rendering just got an order of magnitude faster
I was looking for this recently and found a great OpenSCAD library called RoundAnything. It looks very productive:

Try this,
Yes, The tip solves one of the most reoccurring questions about OpenSCAD, How to make chamfer and fillets on extrusions. As for description the code is both commented and names are assigned to indicate their purpose. In combination with the Round-Anything library a good chunk of usually hard modeling becomes real easy.

This how far I've gotten after 10 days through learning curve and iterative cycle of OpenSCAD > Cura Slicing > 3D Printing > Tweaking > Repeating...
Back to topic, you might find Round Anything to be useful -- I certainly have. I haven't used it yet, but the shell2d() out of the Belfry OpenScad Library also looks like it would be helpful for these sort of functional parts.

"offset" for 3D?
I submit my own library that supposed to help with fillets, can be used for chamfers too. https://github.com/Irev-Dev/Round-Anything
What are some alternatives?
brick - A declarative Unix terminal UI library written in Haskell
BOSL2 - The Belfry OpenScad Library, v2.0. An OpenSCAD library of shapes, masks, and manipulators to make working with OpenSCAD easier. BETA
openscad - OpenSCAD - The Programmers Solid 3D CAD Modeller
SolidPython - A python frontend for solid modelling that compiles to OpenSCAD
plot-light - A lightweight plotting library, exporting to SVG
BOSL - The Belfry OpenScad Library - A library of tools, shapes, and helpers to make OpenScad easier to use.
opengles - A simplified OpenGL ES core wrapper library for Haskell.
PolyDiceGenerator - A customizable Polyhedral Dice Generator for OpenSCAD.
gelatin - A nice Haskell graphics API. There's always room for jello.
cadquery - A python parametric CAD scripting framework based on OCCT
delaunay - Generates a Delaunay triangulation of a set of points
OpenJSCAD.org - JSCAD is an open source set of modular, browser and command line tools for creating parametric 2D and 3D designs with JavaScript code. It provides a quick, precise and reproducible method for generating 3D models, and is especially useful for 3D printing applications.
