    Anyways, if you want to play around with the idea, basic note recognition is actually pretty easy. You can simply go from frequency to note. To get the frequency, a popular way is via fourier transformation. If you want to go the easier route, find someone who's already done this and open-sourced it! I just did a quick search and landed on this GitHub project which looks to do exactly what I just suggested.
