Yes you would need to use a JSON file before converting the fbx, then use the import command. But in all honestly just use Crisp's version of the blender addon, it will do it all for you https://github.com/ILoveAGoodCrisp/Halo-Asset-Blender-Development-Toolset

Because you were wondering how Grun walks, here is Grun, imported to Blender with his Walk animation.
For importing to Blender you will need N2B2N (if You want to import .mot Animations from the game youll need to download its "custom_bones" branch)
